first, my system:

ABIT NF7-S 2.0
2500+ barton
512MB OCZ CAS 2
Radeon 9800 pro

that is all of real importance

ok, first, it is running the CPU at around 48 C on idle, and im wondering why it is running so hot? could it be because of a stock HSF and thermal paste?

would it require a new HSF or would arctic silver alone fix this?

second, since i have a 9800pro, how do i run it at 8X AGP, sisoft sandra keeps telling me that it is running at 4x and that i need to up it... i looked for this in BIOS and couldnt find it

1) Yes. However your temps are fine.

2) advanced chipset features > agp datatransfer rate > 8x

Abit's read a little on the high side. Anything below 65C under load is fine IMHO.
