Anand's article seems to show compatibility, at least for P35A-S and P35AP-S.
Also, Earthwatts PSUs are decent. The ea380 (which I have) outputs 27A on 12V rail, which should be plenty for your hardware.
Before I got mine, I researched the power supply a bit and found threads on other forums with people testing the ea380 with 8800gtx and overclocked e6600/q6600.
q8200 (45nm) should draw less power than a 65nm q6600 and 8800gt draws way less than a 8800gtx so you are fine, even with that raptor.

2 questions...

1. What is your wife doing that she needs a quad core processor for?

All of the current P35 MBs that Foxconn have listed say they support "Intel® Core?2 Quad and Core? 2 Duo" processors.
2. Is your wife's MB an older model that Foxconn doesn't have listed on their P35 page?
2a. Have you flashed the MB up to the latest BIOS revision?

web design, photoshop, gaming, alot of crap I dont know about (prob Iming with her new bf ;) )

#2 yep it's the plain jane foxconn p35a
(from their site it claims to support the next gen 45nm procs but in their cpu charts I guess they never updated it or never tested it )

2a yes I have it's all updated via auto live update by foxconn..

while I know upgrading to a quad is kinda overkill, but i can see a few things thats gunna happen
I get to upgrade my mame box,
since intel is moving to the i7's I assume the 775s will end eventually, and once that happens the 775 prices kinda goes up..

microcenter has the q8200 for 180 + tax which is cheaper than what I paid for the e6550 when it came out lol

I just have to make sure it works
