1) I have a Antec TruePower 380W in my current case and it's over 2 years old, running almost 24/7. In another case, I have the same PSU, but at 330W, bought at the same time, but bearly used. Was thinking about switching PSU to the weaker, yet newer one. Would that PSU handle a OC'ed Athlon XP Mobile 2500+(11x202, default voltage), an SATA HD, 1 DVD-ROM, 1 DVD-RW, and 6 80mm case fans?

2) When I got that Athlon XP Mobile 2500+, I bought a generic all copper HSF...

MBM5 said my CPU temp was peaking at 61*C and averaged 55*C. Even though the system was rock solid stable, that was too hot for my preference, so bought a new HSF combo...

And I put a 80mm Panaflo fan on it. This new combo produces 64*C peak and 57*C average temps! It was supposed to get cooler, not hotter with this new combo everyone was raving about. Both HSF combos used Artic Silver 5 and are in the same case. This floors me as to why this is like this! I don't have the money for another HSF as I already bought two. System is still rock solid stable, but this has me worried. Any suggestions? Faster CPU fan maybe?

1- PSU would probably work OK as long as your mobo has a P4 CPU power connector.

2- Panaflo is too puny for that heatsink - do you see the recommended fan on the heatsink page? Delta 80x80x38mm!!! at over 80CFM!!! That panaflo can't push even 1/4th of that thru those dense fins. Those fins will look like a brick wall to a low pressure fan. Temporarily you could invert (suck instead of blow) the fan and see if there is any change while you order the recommended (or equivalent) fan. If you're low on funds, check bgmicro.com. They usually have a good variety of fans but be aware that you might have to mod the connector as many of their fans may not have standard computer connectors.

1) Ya, my mobo has a 2nd power connector that is square with 4 holes, has something to do with the CPU, so presume that's it. Remember, my system is an AMD Athlon system, not a P4.

2) Didn't think of that, everyone recommended the Panaflo fan with this combo, but looks like I will have to upgrade. Not sure I want a fan as powerful as they recommend, that will be too loud. However, a nice inbetween would be good. The Panaflo has a CFM in the low 30's at 28 dBA, while the recommended one has one in the 80's, but probably at 50+ dBA. Thinking one in the 50-60 CFM at 40 dBA would suffice, and be quiet enough to be bearable. Any recommendations for a fan with a CFM&dBA in that range?

Unf. the Sunon fan that I'd recommend on bgmicro.com has only two wires. If your mobo won't pitch a hissy w/o a tach lead then it would be usable - have to add your own connector as it comes with bare wires. $2.25.
. The YS Tech manually variable fan ($6.99) on Jab-tech.com would be a good choice.
