2 Questions.. removing 'Favorites' and Windows Media player AVI prob..

Hey everyone.. Ive got two questions..
First off, ICQ & Internet Explorer both ALWAYS put a "Links" and "From ICQ" folders into my 'favorites' of Internet explorer even if I delete them... is there any way to permanently disable that?

Second, the new Windows Media player plays my AVI files as sound files... how do I fix that?

You probally need to d/l a codec to play those files, Maybe someone can supply a link cuz i sure can't think of a site that has divx/whatever codecs, i never really looked.
