2 questions due to the possible Downfall of p2p (*sigh* kazaa)

Since the RIAA is Ridiculous, I have 2 questions that I hope you guys can shed some light on.

1. Is there a point for an individual to need large hard drives anymore? I can't see why someone would need more than like 50 gigs, since vast amounts of downloading may be out the window. Could this infact hurt the storage device industries home market base?

2. They say that the RIAA are able to view the files on your computer in your kazaa share folder. You have to figure that the people leading the RIAA are not programmers, so they had to hire computer oriented people to do this dirty work. What would you do to the computer people working with the RIAA???

Downloading isnt the only reason for needing a big hard drive...

I can think of 2 personal examples why i need alot of space...

1) I rip all my cd's to mp3 to make playback MUCH easier and quicker
2) Games like UT2k3 require over 3gb's of space

Personally,

1. I think western digital and maxtor are gonne be hurting in the a few years from now if things go as planned for the RIAA.

2. If I could, I would lynch those programmers on a blistering day with a loose noose so they would just dangle there till they starved to death. That would teach those backstabbing computer junkies, no?

No, I'd just ban you.

I have about .5 TB of HD space, because for many many years I ran an FTP server featuring unique content that was sort of a trading post for underground, hard to obtain media in the Seattle music scene here. Have big HD's is a necessity unless you have absolute control over whatever the network in question is, and since you are a P2P guy it would be an even better bet with the way things are shifting legally. The obvious exception is porn, as my sources say 95% of the internet is comprised of that and save global catastrophe (gives all enw meaning to the phrase) you can probably get your fix there. 😉 Although give Mr. Asscroft and friends a few more years and you'll be blue balsin' too.

1. Yes. DV editing and TIVO are 2 examples that come to mind.

2. What would you suggest? Copyright issues have always been divisive. Too much copyright protection may be bad but too little is worse. Those "computer people" may be the same ones who are tired of seeing Kazaa used to pirate their software.
