2 questions about Office 2007

I have a couple questions about office 2007. The first, is there any reason to hold out for version 2010 that comes out early next year? The second, from trying to read the EULA, I can't figure out if I am able to install it on my desktop and my netbook (wouldn't be using them at the same time). If it matters, I would be getting this through the Ultimate Steal program where they offer it for $60 to college students.

I wouldn't hold out for 2010 myself, unless it has a must have feature for you.

Office Pro can be installed on two machines.

Usually (unless the software EULA or package, explicitly allows you to install on multiple machines at once) you are not legally allowed to use the same software on two different machines. You would have to either: A) buy two licenses for your two machines or B) buy a volume license (which would allow you to install on multiple machines that you own).

Also unless you plan on moving to Windows 7, I probably wouldn't recommend moving to Office 2010, until you are certain it will work for what you will need it for. The last thing you would want is to buy a piece of software, such as a new Office Suite, and realize it will not work for you. I would give Office a few months before purchasing, just in case.

My $0.02

Thanks for the input. I doubt I'll even use a fraction of what 2k7 offers let alone need the "updates" 2010 offers.

This is the language in the EULA that made me think I could put it on my laptop as well:

b. Portable Device. You may install another copy on a portable device
for use by the single primary user of the licensed device.

The way Office has worked in the past, you can install it on a desktop and laptop as long as they're controlled by you. I've switched to Open Office so I don't have 07, but I doubt it's changed.
