2 people w/Doom3 behind a router

I'm over at a friend's place with my machine, we both have Doom3 installed. Aside from the little nagging bugs (server list saying a server is 1/4 one second, you join, says "full" - go back immediately and refresh and it still says 1/4.. wtf...) - we have each successfully joined a game on our own, but can't seem to get into the same game. Ok, seems obvious that it's not going to work, but I thought I'd check and see if anyone else was playing OK, or having the same problems...

PS - There doesn't really seem to be any official forums for this anywhere (from iD or Activision), even VNboards for some reason has no DooM3 forum. What gives? Anyone know another forum more specifically DooM related that I might check?

if you're both using the same cdkey then that's your reason why. i'm guessing iD isn't allowing more than one cdkey allowed online, not sure about LAN.

No, we both purchased the game, different keys. Hmm...

Try the forums over @ NewDoom

Thanks! I'll give that a shot.

Some games look at the IP address, and if it sees a second connection, will either kick off the first, or not allow the second, because the server thinks that it is the same client, that either crashed or something else.

This could well be the problem, but I don't know how D3 is coded network/multiplayer wise 😉
