This is a good deal for those looking to build a small wireless network. Just take note that they are not compatible with the newer wireless networking stuff because this kit is not 802.11b
 
speed is not that bad. I am using one now to get to the net through my PC connected to dsl. I see about 1.5Mbps which is a lot faster than my dsl connection.

 
dude i doubt 56K slow its 1mbps lot faster then 56k but its still a pretty good deal for sharing an internet connection to a laptop i think you can go buy a pci pcmcia port to plug this card in your desktop then share to your laptop if you dont have a isa not sure on a price for it though
