Caviar 320gb - OS
Seagate 1TB - HD Movies
Legit Windows 7 Professional

Ok im having two problems.

1st problem. My HD movies skip frames during play.
Checked Mobo with pc check- Passed
Checked RAM with memtest 3.2v Passed 1 Pass
Processesor Passed
Defrag and Optimization performed on both drives overnight.

2nd problem. I have a red line down the middle of my mpclassic/windowsmp players. but not VLC. I will reinstall both but i have installed the CCC codec packs and tried other versions of files avi, mkv, etc al. nothing. still same result. I will reinstall to see if that helps. but my hd playback is a problem because its connected to a 50 inch plasma i kinda just setup and if people come over id rather it not skipped and show flaws... i still love her lol (plasma)... GF Jealous...

Im going to reboot and run DFT on both drives or a full scan of PC Check and see if its the drives. They are still under warranty but i need to figure this playback issue out. its annnnoying the hell out of me!

Had old version of memtest. Im running current now. and i thought about new guest account and the new guest account doesnt have Red line down the screen when playing in the players... so its something impeeding. im gonna uninstall all the codecs i have and uninstall both VLC and MPClassic and WMP and reg clean and reinstall WMP classic and VLC. I <3 both of em and cant decide which i like better

My meaning was that it is one of the codec packs causing the problem. I personally would try to run using no additional codecs.

This!!

In Win 7 WMP will play DVDs, avi, etc,; and VLC and MPClassic will play mkv files. No additional codec packs needed.
