That item has been on compgeeks for a very long time now. They have never had fake items on their site.

What? You don't already have one of these? Granted, mine isn't black, and I don't have the cig lighter, but I thought all computers came with a drink holder. ;)

I have two drink holders, but I cant figure out what the difference is between the one marked CDRW and the DVD one? Is one for cold drinks and the other for hot? ;)

Have you discovered the foot pedal yet? The one that moves the pointer around on the screen... ?

in all seriousness, if you get one of those cheap air compressors for your car, you can plug it in the cigarette light and use it to dust your computer

why would these kill your PC? The cig lighter might kill YOU by lighting up cancer sticks but the actual lighter just runs off the 12v from your PSU. I doubt it takes all that much amperage either. The drink, well thats a little more possible, but if it spilt while held out in front of your comptuer odds are it would mostly hit the floor.

The smoke particles are death to your computer. Smoke is worse than dust for a computer because smoke particles are smaller. They get into more places and are very difficult to blow out of the computer with a can of air. Work in a tech shop for a few weeks and you can see (if you couldn't already smell) the difference inside the computer.

As for the drink, imagine reaching up to put your drink into it's holder. Let's say you didn't lift the cup high enough to clear the edge. Chances are you are going to be spilling a good deal of that directly into the slot that the drink holder pulls out of. It's a lot more likely than you would think. Why do you think people putting drinks on their CD drive killed their computer? It's not like those things couldn't hold up a cup of coffee.

no. The "C" is for Clean cups and "D" is for Dirty Cups :p

CDRW: Clean Dry Refillable Water Cup Holder
DVD: Dirty Used Drink Cup Holder (they used "V" instead of "U" b/c DUD would sound weird, so they used the next closest match = V) ;)

I have one. In my beater duron. In the garage. I think it's really for 12v crap like charging cell phones n shiz but it's perfect for pepsi drinking smokers who play WoW (cough).

replace the cupholder with an ashtray and you're set for an expedition into flavor country.

Good point, I forgot the residue from cigarrettes. Its not just the smoke particles I'm sure its also tar desposits. Yellow stain of nicotine, etc.

Because the average person would rather put some dumb ****** in their computer than use the desk RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEM to hold a drink.

They should collect the addresses of people who order these and have the FBI issue warrants to these people on the grounds of pure STUPIDITY.
