Hi,
I bought this laptop and it had 2 OS in it, I deleted all the partitions in my C drive and recreated it, formated, reinstall the XP only, but when I rebooted the laptop, it still showing the option to pick between Win 2K and XP, of course Win 2K is not working anymore but anyone know how to get rid of this option mode?

Thanks

You need to edit the boot.ini file on the root of the c drive. Remove the line that refers to W2K, and make sure the default line points to the remaining XP install. If you want to post the file, we can edit it up to what it should be for ya...

Go to Control Panel - System - Advanced - Startup and Recovery settings - and you can edit the Boot.ini file there.

Safest way to edit is probably to make sure the default OS is pointing to the XP installation and set the timeout to 0.

Once the system is booting to XP by default, and you feel comfortable with it, you can then delete the line in boot.ini which points to the non existant 2K installation.
