i have two 80gb harddrive and each is installed with win2k. anyway, i reformat one of the harddrive so there's only one os operationg from one harddrive but everytime i reboot the comp, the comp will ask me which os i want to boot, which both are win2k. wat i don't understand is why the comp still ask me this? cos i have erased one os from the other harddrive.

Look for the boot.ini on your drive with the the boot partition, it's a hidden file. Make sure you remove the correct line, the one that refers to the drive that no longer has Win2K on it. If the default ARC designation is your current active OS then keep the line that refers to it. You can reduce the timeout line to 0 and you won't see the menu during startup anymore.

Better yet, right click on my computer, go to properties. Click on the Advanced tab, and go to Startup and Recovery. In the new window, there is a box that has Default Operating System - select the correct "install" of Win2k you are actually using. Uncheck the box that says "Display a list of OS's" Hit OK, and you are all set.
