Screw it. Disband police including for politician protection and have compulsory CCW with training. Weapons are 100% tax deductible. No more evil police needing to be killed.

Amazing that with almost a gun per person shootings are so rare, violent crime has been going down for like 20+ years, and continued after the "assault weapons" ban expired and we could purchase our trusty AR-15's, or AR-10's in my case? Pretty cool eh?

Guns are a dispassionate tool incapable of anger or actions of its own. You probably didn't know this, everything should make sense for you now.

Oh, if I were to try and honor the stupidity of that topic, I'd have to blame all African Americans for this topic's shooting. Probably hate them too. Problem is I don't blame them, I refuse to associate the actions of an individual with an entire ethnic or cultural group. This is not a stance I have always taken in the past, but it is one I try to honor. If for nothing else than the practical reasons of seeking peace.

When it comes to Bundy, I want the State in charge and determining the outcome of that dispute. It speaks to the far greater issue of Federal ownership of States. I condemn acts of violence or terrorism on his behalf.

When it comes to today's rioting over cops, I want Africans to have leaders who come forth and work with our government to provide solutions to the distrust they have. If Ferguson or other locations demand black cops... maybe we should oblige. Reality might hit them hard after that, when they are still "profiled". When the community has to realize they are targeted for their criminal actions, not for their race.

I expect they'll find no better treatment regardless who their law enforcement is.

What's truly interesting is to notice how many users have wised up and stopped participating in this useless forum :p

Some users were trying to push two main themes with that store (1) this is why we need to take away gun ownership, & (2) this is why we need to reject conservatism/vote Democrat.

This thread, on the other hand, has very different messages hanging over it. That accounts for much of the difference in responses.

The skillset to want to do the job. You often find undesirable jobs commanding high salaries, especially in fields where turnover rate is very detrimental. This is no different.

$90k salary waiting for you right there for the taking. And you can be the example of how to be a good cop not oppressing your fellow man. Just train for and apply for the job.


If there were a team of recruits ready and willing to take on a career in law enforcement in NY at a $45k salary, the department & the city would be paying them the lesser salary.

Yup. Guns are plentiful in other countries too. Not to the same degree but there is something approaching 20 million guns in Canada, yet gun crime is pretty low. Seems to be more about the owner than the gun.

So why is talking about gun owner responsibility (like mandatory training, finger print technology) and background checks immediately shat on by the gun nuts on these boards?

We know what the problem is, it's not the guns but the gun nuts, so why can't we address the issue again?
