Well he/she was never caught so it probably was, but of all the things to steal that seems like the least profitable.

What kind of profit would he have made if he got caught though? Seems like he took the most profitable item he could get away with, which is the best you can do.

Regarding the component switching, if you're doing like jtisgeek said and switching your old parts in while paying for the new stuff YOURSELF, that's fine. Convincing someone they need to buy something they don't need, then replacing the new stuff with your inferior old stuff WHILE THEY FOOT THE BILL, that's friggin stealing. And yes, AndroidVageta, that's exactly what your example said, and yes, stealing from your mother is pathetic.
