2 million miles in one car

<< and you though the chevy (350) that got 1 million miles is amazing......

oh wait, that was from GM. that IS amazing. 😉

Um...the truck was still runnng strong but they bought it (with a new truck) so they can tear the engine down and study it.

Still, 2 million is not too shabby. 🙂

<< wow, he's spent more than $1mil worth of gas. That's amazing! >>

If he's paying $0.50/mile he's buying some DAMN expensive gas.

1 gallon of gas = $1.50. His car only gets 3 miles to the gallon?

Nice mileage yeah, but that Nissan Z ad that shows up in the middle of that page you linked... whoa baby!!! Made my heart beat faster... purty ride. 😛

Is that without an engine rebuild or anything? I'm wondering, what kind of oil does this guy use? He must have a really good mechanic too.

Why is that amazing? as far as I'm conserned it's the best small block V8 thats ever existed. Power GM trucks and cars in the 350 configuration since 1968 and before then as a 327 and 283. It's been around for a long time cause it was proven to be cheap to build and long lasting, my 69 had well over 200K miles and still going strong, I only rebuilt it for the reason I needed to convert it to Unleaded cause buying Lead additive was getting old.

I remember seeing some guy pass his millionth mile mark in a Toyota (or some Japanese car, I can't remember) a few years ago on the Letterman show. But two million miles is huge, almost unbelievable. Go Swedish engineering!

How the hell do you come up with that figure?
2 million miles @ let's say, 25 miles a gallon?

How much is Gas in the US anyway? Gas here in Quebec is .60 Canadian cents a litre. That's $2.27 Canadian per US gallon. Which is $1.43 US. Gas has been more expensive, but it has also been cheaper so I'll use that as a figure to calculate with.

now, 2 million miles/25MPG = 80,000 gallons of gas. Which is $114,400 US dollars worth of gasoline. Expensive, yes, but not quite a million dollars worth!
