2 mice at one time? i.e. set up USB controllers?

I'm trying to set up 2 mice on my computer (one regular small one for FPS gaming, and a cordless one for everything else because it's too bulky for gaming).

Both ps2 ports are taken up by one keyboard / one mouse, so I moved the other mice onto the USB port. However, the mouse doesn't seem to respond.

When I put both mice on the USB ports they both don't respond.

Is it possible to have 2 working mice on one system at the same time? Or do I need to set up anything for my USB ports?

I would think that the problem that you run into with two mice on the USB controller is if the mice are different, and if the mouse software is different.

I currently have a Logitech Mouseman Optical on one USB port, and a Logitech Mouseman+ (wheel) on the other USB port, and together they work great. The Logitech mouse software both sees each once as a different mouse on a different, so I can adjust settings for each mouse individually.

Its pretty cool when I move each mouse in opposite directions and the cursor doesn't move because of the equal and opposite movement. . .:)

yea dood when diablo 2 came out i didnt want to foook up my good mouse that i used for q3, all you need to do is keep one in your usb as you have, then use the other one in your ps2 port, that should work, if it doesnt then my guess would be try a new version of the mouse drivers. the os i was using was win2k pro. hope that helps.

I have a cheap mainboard, so that may be the problem. :(

One mouse is the cordless mouse that comes with teh Logitech Cordless Freedom Navigator and the other mouse is a Logitech First Mouse. I don't think I can even hook up just one mouse on the USB with the OS detecting it.

I used a USB microsoft intellimouse (with mouse ball) and the Intellimouse optical together at the same time with no problems. They both plugged into my monitor's USB hub and work together.
