2 LAN's via 1 computer question.....

I have two LAN's connected by a computer with two network cards. Is it possible for me to access a computer on one LAN, from a computer on the other. Also, I am running XP with ICS enabled to share the internet connection of one LAN with the other. Thanks.

Your best bet is to get two switches and connect the LANs together physically. You can do it with a PC, but you have to have NT installed on it and you have to set up routing. It is a huge pain in the butt when you consider the fact you can just hook them together using the uplink port on one switch and a normal port on the other.

Just my 2 cents. 🙂

ICS is a NAT, so you won't be able to have the two sides talk to each other if I'm not mistaken. NAT's are designed to hide computers behind it.

Hmmm....that is a good point. I guess I'm out of luck!
