2 kinds of ram in a PC?

I have 2 sticks of Kingston HyperX PC4000 ram in my PC right now...my bro had to send his mobo back to newegg and now we have an extra stick of 512 mb GEIL PC3200 RAM..can i put that with my HyperX ram??

yes, they will work together. But it will only operate at the speed of the RAM with the lowest speed.

If you are running dual channel now, the third stick will prevent that after it is installed.

Yup, I had to remove a stick of 512 ram so my other 2 sticks of 512 can run in dual-channel linear more.

Well the ASUS K8V SE Deluxe doesnt have dual chan 🙁.
