2 Keyboards on 1 PC

Will it have any adverse effect on the system if i plug 1 usb and 1 ps2 Keyboard at the same time?Reason being is i am trying to learn to type the proper way and i find it easier to practice using an old standard keyboard with the clicking sound rather than the flat & slim kind that is similar to a laptop.

Also, i have heard of the dishwasher method of cleaning the keyboard. Is it really safe and effective?

tried it b4, ps2 keyboard and usb, it will work

dishwasher, unless your keyboard is water proof, I wouldn't try it, it would severely dmg the board so bad where it may render itself utterly useless

Also, it could possibly wash the lettering off the keys, making it illegible.

Yes you can have both a USB and PS/2 keyboard plugged in simultaneously and it works fine. Asus A8N32 users with the last two newest BIOS's will tell you in order to not have memory errors (specifically test number 6 in memtest) you MUST disable legacy USB support in BIOS. This prevents use of the keyboard after ROM option screens so programs like Ghost (or anything in DOS) will not work. If a USB to PS/2 adapter isn't available a PS/2 keyboard is used, hence two keyboards.

Washing in the dishwasher is definitely a good idea to clean it thoroughly and I've heard of it being done but after seeing how spilling a can of Coke into a keyboard killed it, I don't think it will work. I suppose the only real way to find out is try. 😛

If you take the keyboard apart and let it dry completely before putting it back together there should be no problem with washing it in the dishwasher. I've done it numerous times.

I've put my keyboards through the dishwasher at least 20 times over the years, and they all work. Don't use soap, and let it dry COMPLETELY before plugging it back in. There isn't any actual electronic circuit or anything in the keyboard (at least not the ones i've used).

I thought lettering on keys was a legacy thing.
