2 IP Addresses

I'm a n00b to this cable modem stuff and i am having trouble setting things up here.
From cox we got 2 static IP addresses. 1 ip was supposed ot go to main server whcih is setup and working perfectly. Second one goes to a wireless router (so our wireless can remain on a seperate network).
So i took the line from the cable modem to a switch, ran one line from the switch to the server and a second line from the switch to the wireless router.
The router doesn't seem to be connecting at all (can't ping through the router even). when i tell it to DHCP it doesnt even get a generic cox address. when i put in the static ip it takes but i cant ping to anywhere not even cox.
Any ideas on what needs to be done here? after 10 minutes on hold with cox still got no answer so hoping to get an answer here quicker 😛

Can you ping the server from the router?

Are the IP's in the same network (same subnet mask, etc)

sounds like you will just have to wait, as I've never done much with Cox cable stuff.

Did you try (one at the time) the two IPs on the server, to make sure that both are working.
