I'm running windows ME on a Pentium III with 256mb of ram. My problem is that after about 2 hours the computer will begin to run sower (mouse moving eratically across the screen, programs running slow) and the clock in the taskbar will stop marking the time the problem began. When I restart the computer it will run fine again for about 2 hours. I have ran updated versions of Norton Antivirus and a couple of adware/spyware removal tools (ADaware&Spybot S&D) and the problem persists. Any suggestions would be great:confused:

There is no built in timebomb in ME.
You may want to run a memory scanning program to see if your RAM is bad.
A better suggestion is to move up to Win2000 or XP. What speed P3 do you have?

Windows ME was the worst version of windows Microsoft came out with. I never got it to run smoothly, on any computer. I believe it had some serious issues with it's memory manager, which would cause slow downs over time. Once it starts getting slow, look in taske manager and see if there is a specific program thats hording up memory, or really high CPU usage. Also, what size hard drive do you have, and how much free space does it have left?
