2 HDs....

I have heard that your fastest HD is as fast as your slowest HD (1 master and one slave).
Is this true? Because I have a 75GXP 45GB HD, and I want to put in a slave (a big 2.1 gigger, 5400 RPM, 10ms, its a Seagate) for backup. would this slave HD slow my IBM down alot or any?

One quick question: Should you setup your "Primary" hard drive ( the bigger/faster) one on the same channel w/ the older one (make it slave ) .

It would matter a little in one case. The transfer of data between the drives. If they are both on the same channel, they will transfer data between them more slowly than if they were on separate channels. This is because only 1 device can be accessed per channel at any one moment.
