2 HD inputs to 1 split screen HD output

Was wondering if anybody has done a setup like this. I want to be able to capture 2 HD streams, and then output them in real time with 1 output, making like a split screen to show both.

Anybody set anything like this up before? What type of capture cards would I want for this? What type of hardware are we looking at PC wise? Any software I should look for that will take advantage of a GPU to do most of the hard work? I have 2x GTX 465 and 1x GTX 460 sitting in a cabinet not being used I could use.

Any help would be appreciated.

The first thing you will need is either 2 capture cards or one of the high end multiple input cards. Expect to spend about $200 each for the capture cards or about $1500 for one with multiple stream captures ( you will need converters for the inputs on these which adds to the cost).
