2 hardrives or one

It's theoretically faster to have two drives, one with the program files and the other with data files. But the speed difference would probably only show up in artificial benchmarks. Subjectively little difference would be noticed. Also you wouldn't lose so much if one drive crashed - less restoring to do. Then there's the cost... One big drive should come out way ahead there - just be conscientious about backing up!

you can also run raid(if your mobo supports it) with 2 or more hard drvies which also increases the speed.
