My friend has 2 hard drives and they were both working fine. He has recently been messing about with his system and now both drives are not being detected. I brought both hard drives back to try on my system and they wont detect on mine either.
They power up but they wont detect. I have tried on both ide channels and have swapped from master to slave and so but still no joy. I have tried just the hard drive and nothibg else also.
Is it possible that these 2 drives have just died on the same day or is there something we are missing.
Cheers everyone.

When he messed with them was he properly grounded against ESD? Did he change the position of or remove any jumpers on the HDD's?

Thanks for the reply.
I can't say for sure about him be grounded but as for the jumpers we have tried the jumpers on virtually all combinations and it still wont detect either drive. Even on 2 different PC's.
