2 Hard Drives Question

I currently have a 40GB HD as the master and an 80GB HD as the slave, i have Windows XP installed on both of them, but i want to take it off the 80GB HD, can i do this without deleteing the files on it such as games or music, or would it require a reformatting?

You could try booting into the XP installation that is on the 40 GB drive, then just delete the Windows installation folders on the other drive.

Just make sure the Program files folder on the 80 GB drive does not link to programs on the 40GB XP installation. If it does, you'll recieve a bunch of errors and will have to reinstall those programs.

What are the windows installation folders called, i assume they are in the "WINDOWS" folder, or are there anymore?

so basically, i make sure that there are no "Program Files" that are the same in both HD's, then just deleate the "Windows" Folder on the 80GB HD. Sounds easy enough 😛

BUT...if the programs folder has installed into the Windows directory that you want to delete, you will probably have problems with the programs starting and may have to reinstall them anyway.
