I don't think you can use 2 of these cards. It requires a SLI mobo just to run 1.
Plus now with the A8N32-SLI type boards out 1 dual GPU card makes less sense.
Instead run 2 cards with them each on a seperate x16 channel

That 16X channel isn't going to do anything... Just like AGP 1X - 8X, never really made games any faster. Reason being of course is that even PCI 16X is still too slow for video bandwidth.

So yeah... Besides, with SLI and 512 MB or even 1 GB of video memory, I doubt it would ever have to use system ram... So the 16X x 2 versus 8X x 2 is pretty much a moot point and even more so when talking huge amount of onboard memory on the video cards.

That's not quite true, Arch. PCI16 X2 testing has found one important benefit I know of so far:
50-70% faster SLIAA.

This will make SLI AA (8X and 16X) usable on more games.
