I want a good, durable usb flash drive with 2gigs. What do you guys recommend. I had a lexmark which worked well but got all scratched up because it was made of plastic.

What do you guys recommend?

the kingston (based on their site) does not have a 2 gig on the data traveller 2.

scratches are not all that bad but the lexmark I have now just seems really cheaply built.

Sandisk Cruzer Micro 2 GB

Try that one! The coating is plastic but it is very tough and holds up well. The actual housing is metal. Good thing it's coated with plastic as dropping a metallic object in a working computer is bad.

Anyways, this one has survived a journey through commercial laundry services. It has NOT been exposed to salt water immersion but I have no doubt it would survive once properly cleaned and dried out.

Decent price for 2GB and the speed is decent as well.

I have several of the 512MB models and lost one two weeks ago due to a computer with "USB KILLER" ports. That sucks but they do have a 2 year warranty if you need to get it replaced.

Whatever you choose, make sure it's durable. My Lexar jump drive was made of cheap plastic and didn't last more than 6 months.

I have a lexar jumpdrive that actually got run over by a car (found it in the parking lot, squished -- car is the working theory) and still works fine. OK, so i had to bend the insert a little to get it into the USB slot, but now it works fine. I'm looking for a new one all the same, but that's an impressive feat in my book. My view of the stick went WAY up when that happened.
