2 geforce gtx 480's or 1 670?

Id rather have the 1 670.. leaves room in the future for SLI..

Also 480s are Ovens and suck alot of power.

One 670, for sure. Get one with the 680 PCB. Not that little sawed off reference design. 😉

I know this is my own personal opinion, but to me 2x 480's is just twice as bad as 1x 480. It was a chip that was cut down and under clocked compared to it's intended design and it was still too hot and too power hungry.

My 480 is fast but as people have stated it's hot and its loud. You'll go through the same issue with any blower style fan no matter what card you buy though so better to spend a little extra on a single card with an over the top cooler if you want something quiet.

1) What games do you play?
2) What resolution do you play at? Single monitor?

GTX480 OCed with SLI > GTX670 but with 670 you get more consistent performance in games that has SLI scaling issues and lower power consumption.

GTX670.

Then no worry about missing SLI profiles, microstuttering, outdated drivers etc. Plus you get new features of the kepler series and 1/3rd the power consumption or lower.

670, hands down

performance potential will be lower more often than not, but it will draw a fraction of the power and will be virtually silent compared to dual 480s

the major "bonus" to the 480s is that with summer on its way out, they'd certainly keep you nice and warm for the upcoming autumn/winter
