2 GB (2x1GB) G.Skill DDR2-800 $109 @ Eggy No Rebate!

These sticks have been posted in hot deals so many times. 😛 These things have been dropping like $5 every week for the past month or two. I was considering buying them back when they were $135 lol. Im glad Ive waited. Now theres like a million modules with even faster timings for similar price.

Anyways, no clue what they are but, they arnt any type of micron, dont expect to be ocing them. 😛

these would be good for people with mobo's based on Intel's 965 chipset, they're picky and need the 5-5-5 timings at 1.8v.

Well I think most memory is supposed to be set to low initial spd timings and volts so they can boot. Im not sure that is still a problem anymore.

I tried to use these on my Intel DG965OT mobo and it did not like them.

I have these in my p5b-e system. It is used as a workstation so is not overclocked but they worked fine without issues. I wouldn't use these in an AM2 system. AM2 loves fast memory - intel doesn't seem to benefit as much with faster ram....

There are quite a few reviews on Newegg for this ram, lots of people with AM2 systems that are saying it works fine. I plan to build a rig in the next week here using it. Can't beat the price for a customer who is on a budget, but wants speed.

it just depends on the mobo...

I wouldnt. 4GB is a waste. Well, unless you run a 64bit os anyways. Even then, I still think its a waste. I also wouldnt want to run 1GB X 4.

They just raised the price to $105 also now so....wait for it to drop again if you do.

Damn...I'm so tempted to buy but I think RAM might actually dip a wee bit lower before going back up ($60 range for 2GB of 800Mhz).

To buy or not to buy...that is the question.

I'm just really glad I stayed out of the buying game as the prices kept falling though, I'd be pretty annoyed if I jumped at $150 or something.

you have to be really cheap if your going to wait for this ram to drop to $60. You might never upgrade your computer ever if your waiting for that. At some point they will stop producing so many and the price will level off. Try buying older ram and you will see what i mean. When the surplus is gone the prices actually start to go up and not down. Thats the first problem youll run into. The next problem you run into is PC-1000 ram will be 80$ in the 6 months you wait to get your "dream deal" at $60 (which i personally don't believe we will ever see).

Id be in for a pair of these if I didnt already buy ram. Good Find OP

Well, 667 has been at that pricepoint before (and below) so I guess I can settle for easily overclockable 667 =O

And yes I am pretty cheap, but I'm also pretty broke (negative net worth due to student loans lols)

LOL $82.99 free shipping. I paid $120.00 for one stick of this ram at Christmas time. I'd buy it if I didn't have 4 gigs of the Super Talent😀
