2 Gaming LCD's - Help my decide

I read the LCD Thread by xtknight and he recommends the BenQ FP93GX for hardcore gaming. However, I've read nothing but positive reviews about the ViewSonic VX922. Which one is truly faster? I went to prad.de and compared the 2 and according to that website, the ViewSonic VX922 has a lower Response Time (Rise + Fall). In fact, in almost all the comparison's I did the VX922 had the lowest response time. Am I missing something here? Is that just the lowest it'd go or the average? Any input would be appreciated, thanks.

Welcome to the forums!

You probably can't go wrong with either of these monitors, although I would get the VX922 because it's a Viewsonic and I have seen it in action: one of my friends has one.

However, the tide is turning fast against 5:4 monitors and towards widescreen (16:10) monitors. I think you should have a look at the faster (2ms) 22-inchers by Samsung and LG.

The BenQ is pretty decent (I have bought a few in the past) but I wouldn't get a 19" LCD nowadays, and I don't think they even sell those models anymore. I just bought a 24" Soyo LCD from OfficeMaxx for $299, and its a great gaming monitor, and an MVA panel. The picture quality is superior to any TN-based panel, such as the ones you mentioned. If you are on a very tight budget, then a 22" widescreen is the next best option, with 5 ms response time. it will be a TN panel, though. I also own the Acer 22" widescreen, however, and it is far inferior to the Soyo 24" screen.

Another question, do you notice a lot of motion blur on TN panels with <3 MS? Whenever I play fast paced games such as Quake3/Q4/PK etc, it seems I see a lot of blur on the walls and stuff. I currently have a 8ms TN Samsung 940B, and I'm wondering if I'll notice a difference regarding motion blur if I get a faster TN LCD (Such as the VX922 or the BENQ).
