And yes, it is truly an atrocious film.

Yet I don't seem to be changing channel...

Oh snap, National Treasure is on next.

It must be "movies that should have won Oscars" night...

The Fast and The Furious Franchise had a chance to make a serious run at "best movie and subsequent sequels title" award, which is currently held by Die Hard.

Think about it.

Movie 1 - The Fast and The Furious. It was perfect. The stupid title summed up all the stupid crap you were about to see.
Movie 2 - 2 Fast 2 Furious. Amazing sequel title. Seriously, it was at this point that this franchise was poised for greatness, but then...
Movie 3 - The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. ?!?!?!?!?!?!? Tokyo? Where the fuck did that come from? They blew it! They had the ball on the 1 yard line and couldn't punch it in. That movie should have, obviously, been 3 Fast 3 Furious.
Movie 4 - Here was the chance for redemption and a shot at true immortality. All they had to do was call this 4 Fast 4 Furious, but noooooooo.... Fast and Furious? Lame!

FYI - even though the Die Hard franchise currently holds this award, they blew it to.

Die Hard
Die Hard 2: Die Harder
Die Hard: With a Veangance

There's a great progression and the team behind the series could have wrapped up the "best movie and subsequent sequels titles" crown by just calling the last movie it's most logical name: Die Hard - Die Hardest. Live Free or Die Hard? Please. That's just a lame play on New Hampshire's slogan. Stupid Die Hard 4, you coulda been something!

I thought the sequence would go logically to:
Most fastest and most furiousest.

That also would have been acceptable.

edit: In fact, after further thought, I support this completely.

My point remains, though, that The Fast and The Furious franchise could have transcended time by picking the logical, and best, movie titles.

<-- confused

Die Hard 1: Die Hard
Die Hard 2: Die Hard: Die Harder
Die Hard 3: Die Hard: With A Vengeance
Die Hard 4: Live Free or Die Hard -- working title was "Die Hard 4: Die Hardest"

it was an entertaining movie. WE HONGRY.

seriously though, the best one by far was Tokyo Drift. maybe it was just the better environment and lack of Paul Walker, but it definitely was pretty good.
