2 FAST 2 FURIOUS: Was the prelude in theaters?

I rented it recently and I watched it twice, just to spite the H8TRs. I didn't realize, until the second viewing, the prelude. Was this included in the theater?

*SPOILER*: It's about 5 minutes or so long. It takes place after brian lets vin diesel escape. The cops raid his house but he gets away in a mitsubish (I think it's that 4 wheel drive one that looks kinda like a dodge stealth). It shows him racing across the country in various states for cash. Eventually the cops find him at a hotel and he has to get away, minus the car. He comes across a cars for cash dealership and finds his skyline in the back looking rather rejected. He buys it, fixes it up, and wins some more races. Ultimately he ends up in Miami! Go, Brian!

I returned the dvd this morning I thought that the prelude was a worthy edition to the movie.

Yeah it wasn't in the theaters... too bad... because it was good... no one was talking and his car had no stupid stickers on the 3000gt or the skyline. Hahaha... id love to see a used car lot with a skyline for sale. lol.

EDIT: Oh yeah... the chick that helped him out was pretty hot.
