Apparently the domestics didn't have NNNNAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWSSS! Or else they would have magically hyperdrived between the 18 wheelers. How lame is that anyway? It might feature imports but to have all the domestics destroyed is just gay. That Saleen is a mid 12 second car - it is as fast as any of those cars in that movie. Not sure what other domestics are in it but I'm sure they're just as fast

LOL...but actually, they do have NOS, just not in the way you'd expect. However, again, being a domestic kind of guy, I think that they get a lot of respect in this movie. The stars are totally scared sh!tless of the two domestics they race against...one of the best scences in the movie in fact. They ADMIT that the domestics are faster. And the two oldies, a (I think) Shelby mustang and a Yenko Camaro are destroyed "for a good cause." The Saleen was just typical dumbness, but the other two cars are used well. And, the Saleen is easily FASTER than some of the other cars in the movie, and I hate mustangs.

Heh, you know...I read a magazine article that tested the actual cars used in filming the movie. Let's just say that their performance all around was beyond disappointing, even by the magazine's standards.

Vindication is sweet.

Had to follow it up by checking out the new Ducati 749/999, though. Needed some kind of cleansing activity.

i was just planning to borrow it on dvd. or maybe sneak into that movie after watching a movie that actually deserves to be paid for...🙂.
 
Ya, I agree, performance marks were pretty crappy....there was a post on ATOT somewhere about that a week or two ago. Most of those cars had 1/4 mile times about 13, except the skyline as I recall, which was in the 12s. Too lazy to search for it though.

the thought of watching EVO in action makes me want to go, but then, when i think about all the stickers and the riceness, i dont know. I'm just afraid and definitely do not want to be trapped in idiot ricer boys racing and revving after the movie .. ohh the horror!
 
Heh, when I saw the trailer, I was hoping that it was for a Sprite ad or something like that. I did see some pictures of the filming where they had a Dakota w/ some absolutly hideous body kit. It had a blown 360 making 420HP, but it just looked bad. This thing in blue..

If you want to see some good street racing movies, check out "American Graphitti" or "Two Lane Blacktop". For a car chase movie, "The Chase", "Vanishing Point" (either original or remake), and "Gone in 60 seconds" (I've only seen the original) are a blast.
