I'm having problems with Windows recognizing my Sata dvd burner as well. I dunno if its a BIOS problem, because the BIOS sees the drive on start-up. Ive changed around SATA cables and which slot, but the drive just doesnt show up in My Computer. Any suggestions?

anybody? I seriously need help with this, not having a DVD drive limits my production by quite a lot. Also, I realize I could probably hook up a PATA drive, but I dont want to buy a new one.

Check Device Manager to see if the drive shows up there.

Also, see if Windows just isn't giving it a drive letter, or is giving it a letter that overlaps a mapped network drive. Go into Control Panel > Admin tools > Computer Management > Disk Management.

Ok, so I checked the disk managment, and its just not there. I can see my main drive (C) and another PATA hdd, but no CD/DVD drive. I also tried to uninstall the drivers and restart the computer again in hopes that it will kind of reset it, but no go. This happened to the last dvd drive I had, so I was starting to think that its a motherboard problem. I could be completely wrong about that, but I e-mailed XFX anyways. Luckily I have a motherboard that they dont make/support/sell anymore =_=

I dont think I ever changed anything from the initial build that would affect Vista's ability to recognize a DVD drive. I use www.driveragent.com, but I never downloaded a DVD driver.
