Im on my 3rd [netgear this time] netcard,the first 2 [linksys]worked great for about a week each, then stopped,no lights.. nothing.Device manager said they were working properly [lier]so i now treat dm the same as 'win nohelp'.Ive just installed this netgear card and things are fine,for now, The set-up is..
athlon 1 gig
abit kt7
128 ram @100
savage 4
cl 128 live
OS win ME
d-link usb adapter to cable modem
netgear/linksys to d-link 4 port hub
winproxy ver3
The other machine on the network connects useing d-link usb adapter
to d-link hub. Both see each other fine and both connect to the internet no prob. I know this is oddley set-up but its just the way it happened when I had the cable modem installed. I had internet connection shareing working perfectly with my old isdn connection,
but could'nt for the life of me get it to work with the cable modem
hence the winproxy software.
Is this odd set-up burning out the netcards?
p.s. i did all this b4 finding this fab forum..'If I only knew then what i know now'
