2 different memory speeds

I overclocked my CPU from 2.1Ghz to 2.4Ghz. It is 24 hrs orthos stable, but now while testing the RAM for errors I have come upon a weird problem.

CPU-Z shows that my RAM is running at DDR 600Mhz while Memtest shows that the RAM is running at DDR 685Mhz. Which of these two memory speeds is correct? I've done a little calculating and my RAM should be running at 640mhz since I'm using the DDR 533 divider.

The RAM timings are 4-4-4-10 at 1.85V. My memory is rated at DDR 667 5-5-5-15 at 1.8V. I know 85Mhz isn't a big difference, but since these are Kingston ValueRAM I need to be careful with them. From what I've heard, ValueRAM doesn't overclock too well.

Edit: Thanks in advance.

Post a screen shot of CPUz's CPU and MEMORY tabs. Also list the full part number of Kingston ValueRAM. You may be able to push the memory speed up to 400MHz with 2.0Vdimm.

Kingston's "N5" OEM DDR2 800 can reach 580MHz with 5-5-5-18-2T and 2.1Vdimm.

I got the screenshots for both the CPU and the Memory from CPU-Z.

CPU Tab

Memory Tab

The part number for my RAM is KVR667D2N5/512. I am running 2 sticks of these in dual channel.

Also, my current memory configuration passed Memtest. Memtest ran for over 15 hours with 45 passes and 0 errors.

Also, if my RAM can go up to 400Mhz, can it be accomplished with 1.95vdimm instead of 2.0vdimm since the MB's RAM voltages are limited to 1.95V.

Decent RAM (N5 in P/N). Should be able to hit 400MHz with 2.0Vdimm. Your RAM speed is 300MHz (1:1.25). Which divider did you think you used?

Try 1.95Vdimm and see how far you can raise the memory divider.

I used the DDR 533 divider, which I think should be like 1:1.28. I think both CPU-Z and Memtest are wrong, since my calculations got me the following RAM speeds.

200MHz (CPU)X1.28=256MHz (RAM Speed)
240MHz (CPU)X1.28=307.2MHz (Ram Speed)

The only dividers I can use in the BIOS are DDR 400, DDR 533, DDR 677, and DDR 800.

How come CPU-Z would say that my RAM is at 300MHz, while Memtest says it 342.5MHz? I didn't have a problem before when I was running it with the DDR 667 divider.

Should be 1:1.25. For C2D, 800 is 1:2, 677 is 1:1.5, and 533 is 1:1.25. Perhaps others can correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm running an AMD Athlon 64 X-2 3800+ @ 2.4GHz. Hence why the divider should be something like 1:1.28 if I'm using the DDR 533 divider.

So Serpent, would both CPU-Z and Memtest be wrong or should I just try the DDR 667 divider? It's weird since CPU-Z says my RAM is at 300MHz, while Memtest says it's at 342.5MHz.

I believe CPUz is correct. I've never tested that MB, so I can speak with 100% certainty. Get a 3rd opinion from EVEREST.

I got EVEREST and it seems that my RAM is running at 300MHz. Guess CPU-Z was correct afterall. Now I'll just revert my CPU settings back to stock and see what CPU-Z reports for the memory speed.

Edit: Found a RAM speed Calculator and it seems that my RAM does run at 300MHz.
