OK... This is driving me up a wall
(making this as short as possible... I have to go to work)
Have a client... he is in an environment where he needs a Server, I built him a new computer as his workstation and set up his old computer as the server... The server is a Gateway 1Ghz celeron system ... I upgraded the ram, added a WD 800JB and Added an Antec 350 PS. The system I built for him is a Athlon 3000 on a Gigabyte K8NS-PRO (754) with 512mb corsair value ram and dvd burner, 400W Coolmax (something like that), dvd burner, and a WD800 Also.
About a week after the server and the desktop were set up, the desktop died... swapped every single part out of the machine and tested new ram, video, drives, power supply, and then finally processor... determine the board is dead. All the system does is have the fans turn on with no post messages or anything... So I bought a new board... everything works fine... then a week later (this week on Tuesday) he sends an email saying that the system is dead again... this time its not even powering... So I had to go back to the store to get a new MOBO and they dont have any Nforce 3 boards that are good so I wait... just got the board. I havent returned the desktop back to him yet and he calls today and says that now the server (gateway celeron box) is dead. I have no clue what is going on and the only thing he really does before a system is dead is turn it off (thru windows shutdown) and it doesnt come back up the next day. I am going nutty trying to find out whats going on !
