Some may laugh while others point,
But me, I chuckle as I roll a joint.
Sun is down, they won't see my comin'
And with EV mode it's silent runnin'.

I'm savin' on gas, I's savin' trees,
But still puttin' hollows in suckas' knees.
Coz it's one thing to question--it's one to ask,
But if you mock, you'll be taken to task.

So if you see me rollin' down the strip,
Best remember I've a second clip.
Regen braking, that's the magic trick.
And them ladies call me Mr Thick.

Actually, my car saves more trees than your car does. My car at least feeds them the CO2 they feed on :p

Nice soybean :p

Honestly I don't have a clue what the enviro impact is of the Prius. I never looked, but I think I read something about how harmful the batteries are so for all I know even with gas savings it's nasty.

Nice, you got an economy car that makes sense.

A hybrid is much better for the environment than a regular car. The battery stuff is a myth. Yes, it takes energy to build them, but it's not anywhere close to what you save. Yes mining the lithium is environmentally destructive, but that applies to every metal part in every car. It gets recycled anyway.

The Prius, like all current production hybrids(AFAIK?), use NiMH batteries, not LiIon.

Did you get in on the $229/mo lease special?
Overall the numbers worked out almost dead on to that; it was $230.89/month for 36, but with $1750/down which is only $50 short of the extra residual drop going from 12k to 18k ($1800 total), so in that sense it was $229/month and no down @ 12k. I mentioned that in my "can't believe" thread, though.

There was a time when one wouldn't want to mention that they actually owned a Prius ...

Wait, that time is now ...
