2 cpu's hooked up to cable modem through switch?

Here's the deal. My broadband router got fried in a storm last night. Is there a way to share a cable modem between 2 computers (1 winXP, 1 win98) using winXP internet connection sharing with a 10/100 switch? I can't afford to replace the router for a couple weeks.
