Is there a way to connect 2 consoles to a router without going wireless or running a new line?

Connect a 5 port network switch to the existing line and it will give you 4 additional wired connections.

Yep, what ice said. You need what is called a networking switch. You can buy them pretty cheap at best buy, Amazon, newegg, wherever. 5 port I'd about as small as they come. Plug the existing cable into one port, your stuff into other ports, and tada. No configuration required, just plug and play (literally, in this case).

This is what I use. Switches are an easy way to extend your wired network. Cheap and no setup required.

100mbps is good enough unless you're internet connection is faster than that.

I'd go for a Gigabit switch if you can swing it. A 100Mb/s switch is on worth about 12MB/s and that's running full bore. More likely you will only see around 10 MB/s. If you ever plan on streaming HD video via Ethernet then gigabit is a necessity. Who knows what you might need in the future?
