2 computers on my LAN can't see eachother anymore

I have a fairly simple LAN with 5 computers, a switch and a pair of wireless access points. Here's a pic.

Anyway, up until about 2 weeks ago, everything was working fine. But now the computers at 192.168.0.2 and 192.168.0.3 can't see eachother. Both can see every other computer, but not eachother. I can not think of anything that could explain this.

BTW, the subnet masks on all computers are 255.255.255.0 and all use 192.168.0.1 as the default gateway. I am using IPv4 only.

EDIT: I decided to try booting the Slackware 9 install CD in VMware on 192.168.0.2, to see if I could ping 192.168.0.3 from it. I was able to do so, so I've pretty much pinpointed the "guilty party" as 192.168.0.2's configuration. Anyone have any advice to offer?

To summarize:

* All computers can reach the Internet
* 192.168.0.1 and 192.168.0.4 can ping all others
* 192.168.0.2 can ping everything except 192.168.0.3
* 192.168.0.3 can ping everything except 192.168.0.2
* Virtual machine running on 192.168.0.2 can ping all others, including 192.168.0.3
* 192.168.0.3 can ping virtual machine running on 192.168.0.2

Make sure that NETBIOS over TCP/IP is enabled in the Advanced Properties of TCP/IP for all machines. If that doesn't do it, I suggest installing NETBEUI protocol on all machines, it normally fixes this issue.

have you changed anything on either computer? installed anything?

changed workgrooups. installed/reinstalled anything? what OS?

martind1: No, I haven't changed anything. All computers are running Linux.
ryandmiller: No, they can't ping eachother.

If they can't ping and tcp/ip is working ok, then I would think the drivers might need to be looked at or the cabling is the problem. Are there link lights on both of the ports?

If the lights are on, and tcp/ip is working properly, you should be able to ping. I would look at your network setup. If you can't ping, that is where the problem is. It is either the tcp/ip stack or the cards/drivers for the cards, or the cabling.

It wouldnt be cabling, since assuming all computers are in a hub, then if #2 can ping #1 the cable must be ok.
