2 computers on 1 monitor ? Anyone tried this with a Sony LCD?

I have a Sony SDM-X73 and it has 2 inputs, VGA and DVI. It also has a button on the front that is for changing inputs. Could I hook up 2 computers to the monitor and change between them by the input button ? I have looked through the paperwork that came with it and I do not see anything about this. I am a little worried to try because if I cook this monitor I am back on an old CRT and out some serious cash.

Can't see why not. I do the same with their CRT's.

It will work. Someone here described it as a poor man's KVM.

My Dell 1800FPs have that. I do the same thing you describe. No problems so far and its been a year.
