2 computer outputs into one set of headphones

I am trying to listen to the outputs of two comptuers on one set of headphones. I just bought a f-m-m splitter but I get some nasy feedback when I plug it in. I also have a standard extension.

I have tried using both outputs of the computers and also output to line-in. Same results.

Is the output "crashing" and that is why I'm getting the feedback? Do i need a m-f-f splitter? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

You cannot use a splitter as a mixer. Do you want to build one?

EDIT: Wait, do you want to listen to both at the same time? Or just select between both?
