In a perfect world, we would have US citizens working on the farm but we are not living in one, therefore, we just do what we need to solve the problems.

If you bother to read my original post, I said that those folks will have to join the long line of LEGAL immigration if they want to become US citizens. No more skipping ahead of the line. LEGAL immigrants are waiting for years to get in, why ILLEGALS/seasonal workers are allowed to skip the line?

I do not understand your last sentence.

Why not have US citizens working on the farm? You believe in strong government and punishment. Just force able-bodied welfare recipients to perform the work in order to receive payment.

I know you said that. Once again, my problem is that you said that. What is the purpose of kicking out illegal immigrants but still allowing who-knows-how-many to stay here and keep their sub-minimum wage jobs, if you're not going to try and make them citizens?

You said that an American citizen + non-American citizen having a child in the USA should not result in that child receiving citizenship. This is apparently supposed to stop illegal immigration, but how can someone born here to an American parent be an immigrant? Is your goal in this to prevent over-population of America?

Well, I am all for the lazies (US citizens) to work on the farm instead of on welfare/food stamp. If you have a suggestion to do that, I am all ears.

I never said let allow the 11M and growing of ILLEGALS to stay. I said (in my original post to zinfamous) that if we cut off citizenship, job, and housing ==>> self deportation, no need to spend a fortune to round them up and fly them home.

You know that plenty of both parents are ILLEGALS, come here to give birth to make their kid a US citizen, let start with them first then will go down to 1 legal and 1 is not parents.
No more automatically US citizenship ==>> the kids must follow the same process of LEGAL immigration.
Again, no more automatically US citizen ==> another incentive removed, lesser motivation for ILLEGAL immigration.

In summary, we have to try different things to solve this huge problem because status quo =! working.

You keep bashing my suggestions. What are yours?

Note that I have no problem with LEGAL seasonal guest workers in the agriculture field, as long as they pay all applicable taxes and follow our law then go back to their own countries. If those folks want to stay, they must join the long line of LEGAL immigration.

Elaborate on this. I'm fairly certain that a lot of illegal immigrants do work in the agriculture field right now. What changes here aside from banning them from other areas of work? What is it about picking crops that is acceptable for non-citizens to do? More importantly, what does it accomplish?

Maybe I'm misinterpreting you regarding the child citizenship thing. Bob is an American citizen. Mei is a Chinese citizen who has lived in the USA for several years legally. They form babby in the USA. Should babby be born a citizen or not?

He posted as a regular user, which means a mod did not post it. There is a difference between the two types of posts. To post as a mod, they put the bolded message at the bottom of their post saying they are a mod and then you cannot argue against them or you get hit for calling out a mod. You can post in the mod forum and argue against them there, though.

In this case, he posted as a regular user, so you can call him out on his terrible post. However, calling him out as a mod as well (such as what you did, strangerguy) can quickly land you in trouble.

At least this is how I understand it. If I am wrong, a mod will surely put a note in my post saying so. I would welcome it, so that we can all learn.

You clearly have not learned. You are still trying to call out Perknose by this subtle diatribe.

This is not your place to attempt to tell the membership the rules "according to cybersage". If any member reads the rules and still needs clarification then THEY can ask us.

Oh you mean baby. LOL. I did not understand what you were trying to say earlier.

As you said, Bob is an US citizen = good. Mei is here LEGALLY = good. Therefore, baby = US citizen, all good.

The problem I have is both parents are ILLEGALS and the baby should NOT be a US citizen automatically as things are going right now.

As I said, I do not mind seasonal guest program (in agriculture or any other fields) as long as the employers follow all applicable laws and must demonstrate that they did try everything to get US citizens as employees before anyone else.

But by working here seasonal as LEGALS, those folks can NOT use that as an excuse to jump ahead of the long line of immigration. They MUST follow the immigration law as ten of million LEGAL folks are doing right now.

As I said in other threads, do we need to have more uneducated, no English speaking, no skilled peasants as the next US citizens or do we need more folks such as the founders/co founders of Yahoo, Google, Paypal, Intel, etc.?

I also don't mind to have more folks like this guy to come to the US and join us to build our country = http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?p=34162674#post34162674

I am still waiting for your (or anyone else) idea/suggestion to fix the current mess of immigration.
