2 chain pizza joints in denver accepting the Mexican Peso as payment

wtf illegal?
Haven't you ever had money left over from a vacation and exchanged it in a bank?

Also, why are you so against this. I support it. It allows Mexicans to spend their foreign currency here instead of in Mexico. Better for our economy.

In other news, two illegal immigrants from Mexico, smuggling drugs from Texas to Tennessee, shot and killed a newly wed 24-year-old state trooper, by shooting him directly in the head during a routine traffic stop.

GodDamn this pisses me off, the 10pm news had a very short story on this and there will be a story in tomorrows Denver Post, Ill post the story when i find it online. isnt it illegal to use foreign money in the US? I sure hope the Secret Service is notified, hell i may call them myself. :|

The illegal immigration thing burns me too. But I'd probably do the same thing. I bet he doesn't give them a very good exchange rate. He juices them for a below market exchange rate and makes even more money when he changes in the money for US dollars.

don't blame the pizza shops, blame our politicians. But how much blame can you place? they just want money like the owners of the pizza places and you and me.

hell we don't even accept that here in AZ, at least not that i am aware, but parts of south phx are like mexico so maybe they do. surprised they do up in denver.....i would have thoght the coyotes would have take all their $$$ from them...

the pizza shop exchange rate is 12 peso's to the dollar. They get a slight favor on the exchange rate but that is lost when they convert it to american dollars. I dont have a problem with this.

Exchanging your money at a BANK for US DOLLARS is a whole lot different than a business taking the foreign money as payment.

No its not good for our economy and it undermines the value of the dollar.

Citrix really doesn't like Mexicans.

Right, so I'm Canadian.. and I go to Seattle.. and I bring Canadian money, which the business takes to the bank and exchanges for US dollars.

Right.

You're an idiot.

yeah, i heard this on NPR.

this is a good thing, people. every peso spent here represents the net worth of a foriegn county decreasing and our net worth increasing. of course, it is barely a drop in the bucket compared the the dollars disappearing over the border in the other direction, but this doesn't hurt anyone in the US.

Some places in Mexico accept US Dollars, and some places in Canada do as well. Usually touristy places, to make it easier for the customer.

The heart of the matter is..........

Who's going to be spending pesos at these places of business......

Illegal Aliens or U.S. citizens w/ some pesos leftover after a trip to Mexico??

In Europe too, I was able to use US dollars without going to the currency exchange in some places.

I don't think you get it, the illegals are here to collect USD to take home, not to earn or bring basically valueless pesos over in the States.

Or do you not understand elementary economics.

What's up with all the Mexican hate lately? 😕

Heck, if the local pizza joint took aluminum cans or scrap metal as payment for pizza I couldn't care less.

Wouldn't legal immigrants have easy access to the necessary facilities to exchange their money for US currency? If that is true, isn't it true then that this pizza place is merely catering to the illegals?

And an FYI - immigration isn't the problem. You want to come to this country? Fine, you go through the normal procedures, become a citizen, and pay taxes. Do that, and Welcome to the US! Illegal immigrants are the problem.
