I'll take my craptastic $40 Super Lanboy over that LL PC65B any day of my life. The SLB in stock form will outcool the 65B in stock form hands down, no contest. One look at the rear fan grill tells the story, good thing they include a top blow hole because heat needs to escape somehow out of that case:

65B: One very badly restricted 80mm fan
SLB: One very unrestricted 120mm fan

I like my I/O access off the floor also. IMO, the PC65B is just an average case that has good outside looks. I wouldn't buy this case or even recommend it based on inferior cooling without modification. Go ahead and bash us average consumers, but your case is, besides expensive, well, pretty average at best....nothing special there.....

I must say that the childish bickering back and forth is kinda semi-entertaining. Boys, sorry, men in their 30s, don't mean to encourage further antagnism from you. I am simply commenting on the past. I am curious as to whether Anthony has owned anything else than his beloved pc65b. To tell you the truth, my lian-li pc50 is loud and sucks at cooling. I'd go with a steel case these days.

I'd go w/ Antec slk3000b just b/c of its cooling abilities. silentpcreview has a good review of it.

3000B is what I would get in your position. As most of those above said, the 120mm fan arrangement in this case benefits nicely from the front grille. the coolermaster, although looks somewhat better, has less ventilation. The 3000B is all around, a great quiet case that can be had inexpensively. With today's high heat output components, it would be pointless getting a case with anything less than a 120mm exhaust fan.

Again I say, the problem with the Coolermaster is the poor air intake. That case was clearly built with looks as the primary goal, not cooling. If one was willing to sit the case on a hard surface (off the carpet), punch out the intake grill, and run some sort of duct work from the cpu/video card out the side panel, the case would most likely be ok. In stock form though, the case is flawed.

Just my opinion.

I agree with both Tiamat and Nessisim. The 3000B would be quieter and better built. My gf will probly buy it in the future to get a non-ugly beige case. Considering we spent less than $500 2.5 years ago building her computer (Athlon XP 1700, 512MB, 80GB, CDRW, DVDROM, etc), I think a $40 case upgrade fits ;)
Thx guys

I wish I could get the 3700AMB w/o PSU for the same price that Provantage is selling the 3000B. I'd be on it like white on rice - I don't care for black cases, too depressing...

Well in my humble opinion the Antec is a much more up to date case versus a PC65.

And it certainly is not a POS.

Coolermaster cases are POS in my opinion except the Stacker...It is the only case they make that if compared to the competion is even in the ball park...And quiet honestly is a very good buy...But the rest of their line just does not stack up.

And yes I am offended by the 33 year old daddy...What a prick.

Humm...30 post in one day...

Am I the only person who thinks that bad-mouthing what other people have, and how they spend their money, is stupid and a waste of time? :disgust:

While looking at some screenshots of the Antec, I didn't see any power or reset button on the front of the case? Can someone confirm where these two are located? Perhaps it doesn't even have a reset button?

Also, I notice the door which covers the external drive bays swings open from right to left.

1) Can this door be completely removed, considering I use my dvd-rom & floppy drive frequently, as it would be a great inconvenience to continuously open & close the door.
2) Can the door be configured to swing open from left to right?

fortunately you arent the only mature poster around here.

sadly, there is always someone who takes just enough time to stop humping their lian-li or whatever to post drivel about another person opinions and choices of case. just another form of materialistic snobbery.

Yeah the door comes off very easily and no you cannot change the way the door swings.

I always take the door's off of my Antec's...They break if you look at them cross eyed.

Nice case...Excellent build quality...For the money they are really hard to beat.

Thanks for confirming this. How about the positioning of the power & reset buttons?

Picture is worth a thousand words.

Pretty much the same location as most Antec cases...Comes with a 120m/m fan in the rear but also with provisions to mount another 120 in front of the drive bays blowing right on your hard drive or drives...Remobable drive rails that have rubber gromets...This is an awesome case at any price.

Very up to date case...10 times better than that nameless person who will remain nameless's case that in comparision is the real P.O.S.

The reset button is the top one...Bottom being the power button and the indicator lights are the four to the right of both switch's.

Thanks for confirming that. I too am going to get this case next week. I was willing to drop $120 maximum on a case but after reading about 3 dozen reviews on various cases I'm certain the Antec SLK3000-B is the way to go. Considering it's only $46-47 shipped from provantage.com or amazon.com makes it a sweet deal.

Looks like CompUSA will have the Super Lanboy for $39.99 starting tomorrow (as per fatwallet) This is a no-brainer if you want a great case for cheap...
