Hello all,

After a long struggle (see here) my system is really rock solid. No problems in tha last 24 hours. Games (3d) also work fine. The ATI Radeon 9600 Pro really does its job VERY well !

But I just jave 1 more question, some of you might recognize ?

During the boot (the AI boot logo screen) I hear 2 beeps right after eachother. I never had this before. I only got these 2 beeps after a while of troubleshooting...Is this normal ?

According to the manual, 2 beeps implies Parity Error ?
Anyone else with this problem ?

THX, Cronik

No my friend, I too was blown away by the beeps at first, because I was getting upwards of TWENTY beeps. I was confounded. I called Asus, and they tried to tell me to look at the error code in the manual. I said, your manual table only goes up to 11 beeps. So he puts me on hold, comes back... APparently our motherboard beeps a special kind of beep for each USB device detected. Yeah, so I unplugged my USB hub and everything, now just have a mouse and webcam plugged in. I get 2 distinct beeps. So that's what's causing it, and they told me there's no way to turn it off. If it really bugs you, disconnect your pc speaker.

Hi Nebor,

Wow, you really did a great research! Good job! :)
Hmmm it might make sense... but I have

1 usb Digital Camera connected
1 usb DSL modem connected
1 usb printer connected

1 PS2 mouse
1 PS2 keyboard

So theoretically should I be hearing 3 beeps ?

I think the beeps either point to the PS2 devices or for instance on the back you have If I remember 3 USB connections right ? So the set of 2 might be also the reson ?

Anyhow, I think this really is silly ? Hopefully they will fix it in the latest officail BIOS patch?

THX for your reply!

Hey Vlist! :)

So OK. Sounds like its normal then?! <relief>

what do you mean by "different from tone"? They both sounds different from eachother ? Mine boths ounds the same. 2 smooth beeps after eachother. no high or low tone either. Quite normal tone.

I am going to log an Incident with Asus.
Maybe the more poeple will do this, they might come out with an official statement...? cause this isn't documented anywhere ? frustrating at times...

Maybe they'll fix it in a new BIOS ?

Beste mensen,

Even ter info.

Grtz.

I don't know about that language but I own the Asus P4P800 Deluxe which has many things in common with the P4C800. I get beeps everytime I boot up so I just disconnected the speaker because it go so annoying...

One of my friends had the same problem with the P4C800, he sent it back to newegg and purchased the Intel 875P board instead.

sadly enough we dont have that luxury in The Netherlands. I don't really feel like purchasing goods from the US (overseas). So we're basically stuck with what you get. But at least I know now not to worry about those beeps.
