So my sister dropped her laptop and the HDD was damaged. I told her she needed to buy a hard drive off newegg (she bought a WD 160GB Blue Scropio) and get it replaced. Well she decided to do it herself saying she found a video on youtube that showed how to do it, I thought okay fine... UNTIL I looked up her model's manual, which was a little too late. You have to disassemble everything to get to the freakin hard drive!

Anyway, she was getting two beeps, looked up the code and it said RAM error. So I told her to try different configurations but that didn't help. I then told her to go to staples or something and buy a stick of RAM and see if it boots up. Well it still gave the two beeps.

What do you all think the problem could be? Do you all think its the DIMM slots? She lives in N.Dakota, so I'm not physically there to play with it either.

Nope. Computer powered on fine before hard drive replacement, she just had problems getting to Windows because the hard drive was damaged and making clicking noise.

The laptop isn't POSTing.

I couldnt think of any connection that would give a RAM. I told her to take it apart again and make sure she reconnected all connection points, idle if she did. I think this was just a reason to get a thinkpad or probook she wants.
