We have a laundry chute already. Wife just likes the idea of having it all on one floor anyway.

House is a ranch. 1 story will a full basement.

Master Bath is the one that we never use and that's where we'd put the laundry stuff

In that case, I'd agree with your wife. If you can afford it, go ahead and move the laundry to the one called "Bath 2" in your picture. You could consider stacking the washer/dryer (or side by side if they fit) and walling off one of the doors to the bathroom (pic shows two), taking out the shower and reconfiguring walls so that it becomes storage space in "Bath 1" instead, or storage for laundry stuff in the new laundry room. What are the dimensions of "Bath 2"?
